Are you a Veterinary Surgeon seeking a role that offers a mix of Exotics and Small Animals in a fantastic coastal setting?

This opportunity is ideal. A dedicated Veterinary Surgeon is being sought to join a warm and supportive team at this RCVS-accredited  Veterinary Hospital group. This unique position offers an exciting 50/50 caseload of exotics and cats and dogs, ensuring no two days are the same.

For 45 years, exceptional clinical care has been delivered to pets across the region. The central East Sussex hospital, complemented by five fully equipped branches, provides out-of-hours services for several neighbouring practices. The specialised exotic department boasts a dedicated ward and an experienced, highly skilled nursing team. The hospital is purpose-designed and equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology, including CT, ultrasound, digital x-ray, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. Separate wards for cats, dogs, exotics, isolation, and day procedures help maintain excellent standards across all species.

The team includes multiple certificate holders covering a broad range of clinical interests, from orthopaedics and ophthalmology to advanced imaging and exotics. With both day and out-of-hours teams working closely together, a strong culture of professional development is fostered, offering extensive in-house and external CPD opportunities.

What’s it really like to be part of the exotics team? One of the vets describes it as a place where strong, smart individuals form an even stronger, largely autonomous team. There is a true culture of improvement, a desire to teach and help each other grow, and genuine friendships that extend beyond work. The supportive nature of the team allows people to come out of their shell and find who they are. There is also a close relationship with the community through work with local wildlife groups, bringing a stronger sense of purpose. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to work, with a supportive and good-natured team making all the difference.

- Salary: £60k dependent on experience
- Full-time over 4 days/week
- 1:5 full weekends and 1:15 second on-call weeks
