Are you an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon ready to elevate your career into a senior leadership role?

Imagine working in a supportive team environment where clinical autonomy is valued, and you have the chance to shape the vision of a respected practice. In beautiful Perthshire, recently voted one of the top five places to live in the UK, a practice is looking for a Clinical Director to join their thriving team.

An established, purpose-built, RCVS-accredited small animal practice known for its excellent patient care and genuinely positive working environment. Here, you will be part of a friendly and collaborative team of experienced vets and highly capable RVNs who ensure the practice runs smoothly. The practice prides itself on communication, teamwork, and maintaining high clinical standards.

The state-of-the-art facilities include six consult rooms, an imaging suite, a dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray, two theatres, an endoscope, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, and a full in-house laboratory. Visiting specialists in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery further enhance our capabilities. If you have a particular clinical interest or wish to pursue a certificate, support is readily available.

As Clinical Director, you will lead and develop the team, play a key role in the strategic direction of the practice, and maintain strong client relationships and excellent clinical care. This role combines management responsibilities with hands-on veterinary work, allowing you to oversee clinical standards, support colleagues, and guide the practice’s future.

The working pattern includes a 1:5 OOH rota with a day off after a weeknight on-call and a long weekend following a weekend on-call. The average workweek is 29 hours on day shifts after TOIL. Nurses are onsite 24/7 for emergency support, triage, and inpatient care. The diary structure is well-managed with 15-minute standard appointments, longer appointments for complex cases, daily catch-up time, and protected emergency slots. Work-life balance is genuinely prioritised.

The package includes a salary of up to £80,000 (DOE), 6.8 weeks annual leave, RCVS and VDS fees paid, a generous CPD budget, funded and supported certificates, cost-price treatment for your own pets, enhanced sick pay and maternity pay, a health and wellbeing plan, optional private medical insurance, recruitment referral rewards, free onsite parking, and a cycle-to-work scheme.

For further information, an informal chat, or to apply, please email Debbie Loding at Debbie@vettedrecruitment.co.uk or 07384 551799 today.

You must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and eligible to register with the RCVS to be considered for this role.
