Join a thriving independent veterinary practice as the Lead Vet for a brand-new branch in Cornwall. This role offers an exceptional blend of professional growth, leadership, and the chance to shape a new practice from the ground up. With four successful branches already, this new location promises to be an exciting addition to an already well-established network.

Imagine leading a dedicated team in a state-of-the-art facility, where your clinical expertise and passion for animal care can truly shine. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience, with proficiency across all small animal disciplines. While advanced skills in a specific area are welcome, this position is ideal for a well-rounded vet who excels in providing top-notch clinical care and exceptional customer service.

As the lead vet, you will have the unique opportunity to take full responsibility for the branch, from its initial setup and launch to driving its ongoing success. You will be instrumental in building a cohesive team of vets, nurses, and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. This role is perfect for a hard-working individual who is eager to earn financial rewards and advance their career through high performance.

The branch will start with a small team, but there is ample support from other branches to ensure smooth operations during busy periods and staff absences. The goal is for the branch to grow rapidly, eventually expanding to a four-vet practice or larger. Out-of-hours cases will be managed by one of the other branches, with a manageable rota of 1 in 7 weeknights and weekends, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic.

Enjoy a four-day workweek from 9 am to 6 pm, with full support for continuing professional development up to certificate level. Benefit from five weeks of holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off, private healthcare, and comprehensive VDS/RCVS cover. The competitive base salary ranges from £65k to £80k, depending on experience and qualifications, with a performance-based bonus and a relocation bonus for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for an experienced vet seeking responsibility, career progression, and the chance to enjoy a new lifestyle in the beautiful South West. With early finishes to explore the moors, coast, and nearby Plymouth, and a vibrant social scene within the practice, this is more than just a job—it's a chance to thrive both professionally and personally.
