If your seeking a hospital role in London than read on!
An exciting career awaits for a well-rounded and experienced veterinary surgeon ready to step into a senior vet role within a bustling hospital environment. This full-time position offers the chance to support and lead the first opinion hospital team, making a significant impact on both colleagues and clients.
Imagine working in a dynamic setting where no two days are the same. The hospital is renowned for its high clinical standards, providing first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral services to a diverse clientele. With state-of-the-art diagnostic support, including a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, and advanced surgical facilities, you will have all the tools you need to excel.
As a senior vet, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of evidence-based clinical care. Your responsibilities will include leading clinical consulting, medical, and surgical rotas, supporting new graduates as a Vet GDP advisor, and fostering excellent communication within the team. Your passion for training and guiding junior colleagues will be crucial in helping them thrive in a busy London hospital environment.
The role offers a 6-week rotational rota, averaging 40 hours per week, including weekend rotations. This schedule allows you to work across all departments, from consulting and surgery to ward and ECC. You will also be part of the on-call rotation and may work up to two bank holidays per year.
The hospital boasts a large, collaborative team of approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs, and a dedicated front-of-house team. You will be supported by an established management structure, including senior RVNs, deputy head nurses, a head nurse, a head vet, and a hospital manager.
Located on the outskirts of urban Essex, Wanstead offers the perfect blend of city and countryside living. With excellent transport links, including a short walk to a Central Line tube station, and a plethora of independent restaurants, bakeries, pubs, and coffee houses, you will have plenty to explore during your time off.
The salary for this senior position ranges from £60,000 to £80,000 FTE per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include 6.6 weeks of annual leave, private medical insurance with BUPA, up to £2,000 annual CPD allowance, Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance where applicable.
