Are you an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon seeking a fulfilling role in a supportive and dynamic environment? Our client in charming Essex, is looking for a dedicated professional to join their team. With easy access to London and a plethora of outdoor and leisure activities at your doorstep, this role offers the perfect balance of professional satisfaction and lifestyle benefits.

Join a fantastic team comprising a Practice Manager, four knowledgeable and friendly Nurses, a Student Nurse, two VCAs, four receptionists, and three Veterinary Surgeons, including a New Graduate Vet. The practice collaborates closely with a visiting certificate holder in small animal surgery, allowing for a diverse and stimulating caseload. Clinical freedom is strongly supported, and regular clinical meetings and in-house CPD ensure a high standard of care.

The role involves handling a wide range of first opinion cases, predominantly dogs and cats, alongside some small furries and exotics. Surgical caseloads include neutering, mass removals, dentistry, basic ophthalmic surgery, emergency surgeries, and wound management. The practice is well-equipped with in-house laboratory capabilities, diagnostics, ultrasound, digital x-ray, and multiparameter monitoring.

Ideal candidates will be qualified Veterinary Surgeons with RCVS registration and at least 3-4 years of experience in small animal practice in the UK. Confidence in routine surgeries and consults is essential, and those with experience in a Lead Veterinary role or seeking a Clinical Lead or Senior position are strongly encouraged to apply. The role offers clinical freedom, unparalleled support from a neighbouring practice, allowing no OOHs, minimal bank holidays, and a team-oriented environment.

The benefits package includes an attractive salary of up to £100,000 (dependent on experience/full-time equivalent), a generous CPD allowance, 5.6 weeks of initial holiday rising to 6.6 weeks after two years, an extra day’s leave for your birthday, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, private health insurance, a contributory pension scheme, paid membership fees and much more.

If you are passionate about animal welfare, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and thrive in a collaborative yet independent work environment, this role could be your next career move. Apply now to join a team that values high-quality patient care and professional development.
