Imagine working in a practice where shared clinical discussions and collaboration are at the core of daily operations. While confidence in independent farm work is essential, the emphasis on teamwork means you'll never feel isolated. You'll be part of a large, experienced farm veterinary team based in North Shropshire, covering parts of Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, and North Wales.
This position presents a diverse caseload, primarily focusing on dairy herd health and consultancy, with some beef and sheep work. Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular herd health visits will be central to your role. You'll need to be adept at routine dairy reproduction work, including ultrasound scanning, and comfortable engaging in clinical discussions with farmers and colleagues. Good communication within the team is crucial, as most farms work with multiple vets.
The practice offers numerous avenues for professional growth. You can delve into advanced reproduction techniques like artificial insemination (AI) and embryo transfer (ET) for cattle and sheep, collaborate with the UKET team, and develop sheep services. Additionally, there's the opportunity to teach and train farmers and vet students through Harper-Keele Vet School clinical rotations and elective placements. You could also work with large-scale calf rearing systems, providing a unique chance to broaden your skills and expertise.
The ideal candidate will be RCVS registered with at least two years of farm practice experience, confident in cattle reproduction work and routine farm surgery, and enthusiastic about building long-term relationships with farmers. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential. Most importantly, a passion for teamwork and a curious, energetic approach to the role are highly valued.

Now a multi-site practice with over 30 vets, it serves clients across the Midlands and North West of England, as well as Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
