With the launch of a brand-new ECC and Intensive Care Unit facility later this year, the organisation is expanding its team and seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic veterinary nurses to support the care of hospitalised and critically ill patients.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care and management of inpatients, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, comfort, and welfare are maintained. Collaborating closely with veterinary nurses and clinicians, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional care, particularly for patients within ICU and ECC. This is a unique chance to become an integral part of a growing team, contributing to the organisation's reputation as a leading referral centre.

Working on a rolling rota, you will commit to 40 hours per week, including weekend and bank holiday shifts. The organisation offers referral services across various disciplines, including soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and oncology. Your role will be pivotal in supporting these services and aiding the development of the expanding ECC and ICU provision.

The state-of-the-art facilities include MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, fluoroscopy (dedicated theatre), separate medical and surgical wards, an in-house laboratory, operating microscope, advanced anaesthesia equipment, ventilators, and a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical tools. The new ICU/high-dependency unit will further enhance the ability to deliver outstanding care to complex and critical patients.

To be considered for this role, candidates must be RCVS qualified with at least two years of registration and eligibility to work in the UK. Previous experience in inpatient care, ECC, and/or ICU is highly desirable, along with experience in out-of-hours work. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, good organisational skills, and a proactive approach to learning and professional development are essential.
