Are you a dedicated and dynamic Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for an exciting new role? Join a passionate out-of-hours team at a busy Veterinary Hospital located in the heart of Somerset. This esteemed Veterinary Hospital, along with its branch practice is committed to providing exceptional care to its patients and outstanding service to their owners. The team is deeply passionate about animal welfare and works in partnership with a dedicated out-of-hours provider, ensuring high-quality emergency care during nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will work alongside the night vet at the main hospital. Your responsibilities will include caring for inpatients, preparing for out-of-hours surgeries, and managing anaesthesia. You will also collaborate with a twilight team member who will assist with arranging appointments, triaging patients upon arrival, and supporting infection control. The hospital sees a diverse range of species and cases, from traumas and toxin ingestions to blocked bladders, GDVs, and C-sections.

The role follows a rolling rota of 4 nights on, 7 nights off, 3 nights on, 7 nights off, with shifts from 19:00 to 08:30. This schedule allows for a balanced work-life dynamic, giving you ample time to recharge.

To excel in this role, you should be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have a genuine passion for animal care and welfare. Adaptability to the practice culture is also essential.
