Senior Veterinary Surgeon | great first step into management | grow your own caseload | Manchester

Veterinary Surgeon - Greater Manchester, North West

Ref: 139Monday 18 July 2022

£55,000 - £60,000

Why would you apply to this Veterinary Surgeon vacancy with our client in Manchester?

You're a Vet who has been in practice for a few years now and is looking for managerial progression. You're not necessarily the best vet in a clinical sense, but you're itching to get your teeth into the day-to-day running of a practice and your current role just doesn't offer than option.

Either the Clinical Director is years from retiring, or the senior vet is already primed to take their place. Perhaps the practice is too small to add another leader into the mix.

If you don’t feel like you've got anywhere else to go, this could be your next move.

Our client's practice consists of a 3-4 vet team and 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses. The Clinical Director is currently on maternity leave so there's room for someone to come in and take on some of the managerial responsibilities alongside the Practice Manager. Long term, there's scope to continue building these skills. The support of leadership courses is available if you’re not quite where you want to be yet.

Added to this is the option of developing a caseload of your choice. Whether you're into medicine or orthopaedics, dermatology or imaging, you'll be given help and support to grow your client base and the equipment to allow you to do it. If you're happy with surgery then there's plenty of that too, with a very busy routine caseload.

You'll be joining a long-standing team who have all been at the practice for many years and working with clients who wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Full time hours are 40 per week with 1:4 Saturdays, but there's flexibility, so if this isn't quite what you need, let us know and we can sort something out.

All-in-all, this is a great development opportunity just 20 minutes from the centre of Manchester.

Benefits include:

  • CPD allowance of £1750
  • up to 7 weeks holiday
  • paid professional memberships
  • enhanced sick, maternity and paternity benefits
