Veterinary Surgeon - Norfolk, East of England

Ref: 162Wednesday 10 August 2022

£35,000 to £65,000

Live the dream!!

Live by the sea but have easy access to excellent transport links to London and international airports.

My client is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team within a progressive first opinion practice with excellent facilities including CT scanner, and all the usual toys including dental x-ray. They are also in the process of accepting local referrals in feline internal medicine, CT scanning, and TPLOs.

As well as an experienced team of Vets they are supported by a team of RVN's and are a VN training practice also.  Their support team consists of exceptional receptionists, admin, and maintenance/cleaning staff along with the Practice Director who is continually working alongside their Clinical Directors to improve the practice. More importantly than this they have the team of staff pets that accompany their owners to work as they have a well utilised bring your dog to work scheme with staff-specific kennelling in the pipeline.

They hold monthly vet meetings and 3 monthly full practice communication afternoons, were they actively encourage feedback, case discussions, and good communication.

The 6 practices are situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Norfolk Broads National Park with stunning coastline within half an hour’s drive. There are good transport links to London and Norwich has a host of sporting and social events to enjoy in your time off.

The weekly vet rota includes daily administration time and regularly scheduled breaks. They can offer a variety of exciting and fulfilling roles to suit the right candidate’s needs. Generally, their Vets work an even split of operating/consulting at our main practice and across our 5 other branches, this offers opportunities to gain support in surgery and evolve your skills. However, if you prefer working with a smaller team or consulting only roles, they can offer an adapted position at one of our branch practices. Certificates are fully supported and funded. There is no obligation to do out-of-hours or night work with this role but they  have a good relationship with their local out-of-hours provider and occasional night shifts can be picked up and experience gained in ECC if this is something you are interested in. They  have a well-established new graduate support system with clinical coaches, mentors, and Vet GDP advisors. They like to support their vets and encourage them to follow areas of interest. Recently they have supported vets through completing surgery and medicine certificates as well as improving skills in imaging and ophthalmology.

This position could be either part-time ideally between 20-30 hours per week or full time being 40 hours a week over 4 days. Their vets also cover 1:6 Saturday mornings with either a day off the following week in lieu or the hours can be factored into your weekly hours if preferred.

Benefits include, Excellent CPD allowance with 5 days paid CPD leave, professional memberships paid and certificates full funded and encouraged. 33 days holiday allowance plus your birthday day off plus additional leave per length of service, enhanced maternity leave, paternity and adoption pay, excellent company sick pay and company pension, staff pet discounts, shopping discounts and much more!

They can also provide sponsorship for overseas candidates.
