Are you a skilled veterinary surgeon looking for an employer who will be completely flexible to suit your needs?
Whether you're looking for a consult-only role, a role with a surgical bias, or you have a particular interest you wish to explore - all can be accommodated here. You'll also enjoy a flexible rota with various shift options, including split shifts, school hours, earlies, lates, or full days.
You will have the chance to work on a diverse range of cases, including routine, advanced, and emergency care. Depending on your interests, you'll have the opportunity to perform surgery at least one day per week. There's a collaborative environment in the practice, providing regular vet meetings for support, sharing clinical knowledge, and discussing cases. Case continuity is highly valued, as they pride themselves on building strong relationships with their clients.
You'll be joining a practice which has been serving the community for over 100 years. Their team, known for their close-knit and supportive nature, boasts a wealth of experience, with many members having 5 to 20 years' service. With a team of 9 veterinary surgeons, including a certificate holder in Ophthalmology, they prioritize investing in their team's professional development.
Their caseload encompasses both routine and advanced primary care services, such as orthopedic surgery, laparoscopic spays and biopsies, soft tissue surgery, eye, heart, and skin treatments, arthritis management, and cancer treatment. They also offer referral services in ophthalmology. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopes, dental equipment, and more, their spacious practices in Tamworth and Atherstone cater primarily to cats and dogs, while occasionally tending to small furries and even the occasional chicken!
Located in charming market towns just a short 15-minute drive from Birmingham, you'll have easy access to both city life and peaceful countryside surroundings. Birmingham airport is also conveniently close, only 30 minutes away. If you're considering a relocation, be sure to inquire about their relocation package.
If you thrive in a first opinion setting and enjoy being a well-rounded GP vet, then we'd love to speak with you. This role is ideal for those comfortable with routine duties, but the team are open to supporting surgeons with more advanced procedures, provided they are confident in routine first opinion duties.
You must be eligible for RCVS registration to be considered for this position and visa sponsorship can be available for suitable applicants.
