Are you an experienced vet looking to join a supportive and well-established practice in the heart of Edinburgh? My client is excited to welcome a dedicated professional to their dynamic team. With a flexible working environment and a commitment to work-life balance, this role offers both full-time and part-time options, including a 1 in 3 weekend rota with time off during the week to compensate.

This modern and fully equipped surgery provides easy access to top-notch facilities and a collaborative atmosphere. You will be part of a passionate team that includes two full-time vets, two part-time vets, three RVNs, a dedicated Practice Manager, and three client care advisors. The practice is renowned for its advanced services in emergency and critical care, feline nursing, dermatology, and clinical animal behaviour.

As an experienced vet, you will be confident in all aspects of general practice. Weekdays will see you supported by two RVNs and two receptionists, along with at least one other vet. On weekends, you will take sole charge, supported by one nurse and one receptionist, focusing primarily on sick and emergency cases with no scheduled surgeries, allowing you to provide the best care possible.

In return for your expertise and dedication, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £60,000 (FTE), depending on experience. Additional benefits include a paid one-hour lunch break, a CPD allowance with support for advancing clinical interests, a contributory pension scheme, and 5.6 weeks of paid holiday, rising to 6.6 weeks after two years of service (pro rata). They also cover your RCVS, VDS, and BVA fees and offer exclusive group discounts, including staff discounts and gym memberships.

Moreover, you will enjoy an extra paid day off each year for your birthday, free car parking, and the prestige of working in an IFSM accredited Silver cat-friendly practice and an RCVS Practice Standards member. Overtime can be compensated either through pay or time off in lieu.

If you are ready to take the next step in your veterinary career with a practice that values your skills and supports your growth, this is the place for you.
