Veterinary Surgeon - Independent Practice

Veterinary Surgeon - Berkshire, South East

Ref: 137Monday 4 July 2022

£30,000 to £50,000

Our client has a friendly 4 vet team who are now looking to recruit an additional small animal veterinary surgeon for their independent, RCVS accredited, 3 site practice in West Berkshire. The main branch is ideally situated between Reading and Newbury in a beautiful rural area, with branch surgeries in the locality. They are a well established and proudly independent 100% Small Animal practice which strives to deliver the highest standards of care to their patients.

Their days generally consist of both consulting and operating, with a good mix of surgical and medical caseload. They have all the usual diagnostic toys that you would expect including digital x-ray, new ultrasound machines and endoscopy. With  a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota, with Vets Now covering the OOH.

They are keen to support new graduates and have experience in this. You would be allocated a mentor and there are 2 vets currently completing VetGDP Adviser training. Likewise, they would absolutely love to welcome another experienced team member and are happy to facilitate development of your interests. They would also happily support  you in completing a certificate if desired and there is also potential to take charge of and develop one of their branch surgeries. CPD allowance is generous – if it's going to be of benefit to the practice then they will generally pay for it!

The standard rota is typically a 4.5 day working week but can be flexible so can be discussed to suit your requirements.  Usual benefits apply – paid RCVS, BSAVA etc memberships, private health insurance. Salary commensurate with experience.
