A hospital in South West London is seeking a dedicated nocturnal registered veterinary nurse to join their esteemed night team on a permanent basis. Imagine working alongside an experienced on-site veterinary surgeon during your night shifts, with the added support of a clinical management team available for any daytime queries. The unique rotation of 3 nights on, 7 nights off, followed by 4 nights on, 7 nights off, offers a balanced work-life schedule, averaging 30.33 hours per week. Shifts run from 7pm to 8am, allowing you to enjoy your days off to the fullest.
Key responsibilities include triaging cases on arrival, assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations, maintaining comprehensive patient records, and ensuring a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in your care. You will also utilise Schedule 3 skills as directed, manage equipment, and provide clients with timely updates on their pets' progress.
The hospital boasts a well-rounded caseload of routine procedures, emergency, and critical care. The hospital supports surrounding practices with internal referral cases and offers specialist services with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, cardiologist, and physiotherapist. As an RCVS Accredited Hospital with an ISFM Silver Award for Cat Friendly Clinics, the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

The Night RVN salary ranges from £28,813.50 to £34,121.25, with room for growth based on experience. Additional benefits include 6.6 weeks of annual leave (pro rata), a CPD budget with up to 2 days’ paid CPD leave, paid 30-minute lunch breaks, and the opportunity to join a private medical healthcare scheme at a reduced rate.
