A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a large, multi-disciplinary veterinary hospital, where you will play a key role in developing and expanding dental services while working alongside a highly skilled team.
About the Role
This position is ideal for an enthusiastic and dedicated RVN with a keen interest in dentistry and anaesthesia. Working within a state-of-the-art hospital, the role involves supporting a busy dental referral service, overseeing the IM3 purpose-built dental suite, and coordinating dental procedures—including Schedule 3 tasks—while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
This is a full-time role:
- 40 hours per week
- 4-day week (35 hours, Monday–Friday)
- 1 in 4 weekends
About the Hospital
This RCVS-accredited 24-hour veterinary hospital and emergency service centre provides OOH and referral support to multiple practices across the region. The practice offers a range of specialist services, including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, oncology, endoscopy, ultrasonography, CT imaging, and advanced dentistry. The team includes over 70 colleagues, working collaboratively to provide outstanding patient care.
The hospital's dedicated dentistry service offers both first-opinion and referral procedures, led by a postgraduate certificate holder in veterinary dentistry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with this specialist vet, contributing to the growth and development of the dental department.
Key Responsibilities
Provide anaesthetic nursing support for a variety of surgical and dental procedures
Manage and oversee the IM3 dental suite, including stocking and maintenance
Perform full-mouth dental radiographs (essential)
Assist with advanced dental procedures, such as interdental wiring and temporary crown extensions (training available)
Conduct nurse-led dental clinics, including post-op rechecks and client education
Manage internal and external dental referrals, scheduling procedures and providing estimates
Organise in-house training and CPD on dental topics, including instrument maintenance and oral health awareness
What They’re Looking For
Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a passion for dentistry and anaesthesia
Experience in dental radiography (essential)
Enthusiastic about client education and preventative dental care
Organised and confident in managing the dental referral diary
Ideally, working towards or holding a certificate in dentistry (though not essential)
