Are you an experienced farm vet seeking a fulfilling role in a supportive and dynamic environment? Look no further!
A fantastic position has opened up in the county of Roxburghshire, nestled in the picturesque Scottish Borders, perfect for those who thrive in a close-knit community and enjoy the great outdoors.
This role is ideal for a confident and passionate vet who excels in providing top-notch clinical care. You'll be joining a dedicated team at this mixed practice with a well-established client base in beef, sheep, and dairy, alongside small animal and equine services. Your primary focus will be on our progressive suckler farms, where you'll engage in a variety of routine services such as pelvimetry, AI, bull testing, pregnancy scanning, and blood sampling, as well as handling emergency cases. Additionally, you'll have the chance to work with their pedigree beef and sheep flocks, making herd and flock health planning a crucial aspect of your role.
This mixed practice boasts a team of certificate holders and colleagues currently enrolled in certificate programmes, ensuring you have access to excellent support and opportunities for professional development. The practice is well-equipped with phase contrast microscopy, Pulsator-V, and both linear and curvilinear ultrasound scanners, providing you with the tools needed to excel in your role.
Located in a rural setting with excellent transport links to Edinburgh and Newcastle, this practice can offer a perfect balance of professional and personal life. The team enjoys regular practice dog walks, social evenings, and participates in local sports clubs, youth organisations, and agricultural shows. The vibrant community spirit and stunning landscapes make the Scottish Borders an ideal place to live and work.
The role includes a competitive salary of up to £65,000 FTE, depending on experience, with a vehicle available for private use. Additional benefits include a Health Plan, Colleague Discount Scheme, Buy and Sell Holiday Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, Life Insurance at 1x annual salary, 1 day paid volunteering leave, enhanced maternity and paternity benefits, 6 weeks holiday, enhanced sick pay, and a pension scheme.
