If you are a newly graduated veterinary surgeon and looking for a role with an active mentoring scheme where you can expand on your current skills, develop your career, work with and learn from an experienced, forward thinking and friendly team of clinicians, in a hospital environment, then this is an opportunity not to be missed!

Our clients run an Independent RCVS Tier 3 training hospital in Wiltshire and are looking for a graduate vet to join their team in a new role to help care for their patients, develop your skills and support the current team.  The hospital currently provides first opinion, critical and emergency care, as well as internal referral services for their 5 branch surgeries.

The role itself is full time permanent, based in the main hospital, however there is also the opportunity to be based in one of their branch surgeries with a smaller team.  Both options offer a busy and varied caseload, therefore applicants should have a good understanding of basic surgical and medical procedures and be confident in their abilities.  Applicants will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be happy and proactive in working as part of a team.

This role offers access to a unique graduate scheme which provides an excellent mix of practical clinical work, mentoring and teaching to allow you to grow and develop as a veterinary surgeon and offers access to a qualified Vet GDP Advisor throughout your training.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of 22 experienced vets (across all 6 sites), with a vast array of interests and further certificates including imaging, surgery, medicine and ophthalmology.  The practice itself is state of the art with CT, endoscopy, laparoscopy and arthroscopy equipment, large consulting and waiting areas, separate wards and extensive in-house laboratory.  They currently do not cover their own out of hours, but instead host the local out of hours team always allowing their patients better continuity of care and access to emergency care within their own practice.

The hospital is based in Wiltshire on the southwest of England and offers ample onsite parking and a direct link to the M4.  Less than an hour from Bristol city centre and less than 2 hours from London you have easy access to the exciting hustle and bustle of the city whenever you fancy and for those times when you want a calmer more relaxing or active experience you are surrounded by country parks and excellent shops and eateries.

Benefits:
•    Starting salary £35,000
•    5 weeks annual holiday entitlement plus 5 days CPD allowance
•    On site training and external CPD with further certificates actively supported
•    Professional membership fees paid
•    Employee discount scheme available
•    No out of hours
•    Flexible working patterns available
•    Career development opportunities
•    Staff recognition scheme
•    Private healthcare
