Are you a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) looking to join a close-knit, family-run practice that truly values its team members? Excellently situated with convenient access to both Newcastle and Durham city centres, this independent practice offers a warm, community-focused environment where your skills and passion for animal care can truly shine.

This RCVS accredited practice boasts a team of four experienced vets, including an advanced practitioner in Dermatology and Exotics, supported by a fantastic team of nurses, receptionists, animal care assistants, and administrative staff. The practice is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including dental X-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitor, bair hugger, electrocautery, ventilator, rigid endoscope, and advanced biochemistry and haematology machines. Separate wards for dogs, cats, and exotics, complete with custom-built kennels, ensure the highest standards of care for a diverse caseload that includes dogs, cats, chickens, ferrets, reptiles, birds, wildlife, and small furries.

The practice fosters a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, with an open-door policy that encourages team members to share their ideas and concerns. Regular social events, such as bowling, meals out, and escape rooms, help to build strong team bonds. Nurses benefit from a designated Schedule 3 day for training and performing procedures, ensuring continuous professional development.

The role requires a self-motivated and organised RVN with a calm and respectful manner, capable of handling stressful situations and providing exceptional care to both in-house and out-patient animals. The position offers a four-day work week (8.30 am - 6.15 pm), with a 1:4 Saturday rota and no out-of-hours commitments. Shifts include theatre, consultations, and hospital duties.

The attractive package includes a starting salary of £27,500, with potential increases based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include unlimited CPD/training support, professional fees for RCVS and Veterinary Defence Society, five weeks of holiday plus bank holidays, a birthday day off, two annual bonuses, and cost-price treatment for pets housed with you. Employees also enjoy a company pension, employee discounts, and sick pay.

If you are passionate about providing first-class care and eager to grow within a supportive and dynamic team, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
