Are you an experienced vet seeking a role that offers both variety and purpose? Look no further.

Imagine a job where your schedule is as appealing as the work itself. As a Roving Veterinary Surgeon based at this West Yorkshire Hospital, you’ll experience the best of both worlds—enjoying the flexibility of locum life with the stability and benefits of being an employee. With a salary of up to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a workweek of just four days, Monday to Friday, your work-life balance is assured. Plus, you’ll receive your rota at least six weeks in advance, giving you ample time to plan your personal life.

This role allows you to bring your skills to various Primary Care Practices within the network, with opportunities to develop your clinical interests at the main hospital. You’ll have access to the latest diagnostic tools and work alongside a highly skilled and experienced veterinary team, ensuring you can deliver the best care possible. The varied caseload, from routine to complex cases, will keep you continually learning and growing.

The group are a high-quality primary care and referral practice with 11 clinics across South and West Yorkshire, including a 24/7 Tier 3 Hospital. Their ethos is clinical excellence, and they pride themselves on their core values of client and patient care. The clinics are Cat-Friendly, and run on 15-minute consults as a minimum. They offer a full range of primary care services and advanced services such as laparoscopy, endoscopy, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, cardiology, ophthalmology, and CT. They even have their own rehabilitation service with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and laser therapy.

The hospital is purpose-built, featuring a large waiting room with separate cat and dog areas, fully equipped theatres, and air-conditioned consulting rooms. They have a friendly, well-established team and a comfortable, spacious staff rest area. The large vet team is supported by fantastic nursing and front-of-house teams, many of whom are working towards certificates in various specialities.

They are looking for a confident individual who enjoys all elements of their work, including consulting, routine surgery, and emergency case management. You should be comfortable working sole charge and across multiple practices. Your clinical decision-making abilities will be crucial as you interpret diagnostics and manage both consults and hands-on cases.

In return, they offer a comprehensive benefits package, including five weeks of holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave, relocation support, RCVS and VDS fees paid, an employer contribution pension scheme, life assurance, an e-car salary sacrifice scheme, enhanced equal family leave, and extensive internal and funded external CPD.

My client is committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all their Associates. They have an experienced team of Mental Health First Aiders across their practices and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme available for everyone. Join them and be part of a team that values collaboration, open communication, and mutual support.
