 The Role:

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £75,000 (pro rata), depending on your certification and Advanced Practitioner status. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, this permanent position provides a fixed day off each week and no regular out-of-hours commitments, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical focus, you will primarily be based at their Hospital site, with one operating day at their branch surgery. You will provide high-quality surgical and medical care, working alongside our Surgical Director and performing both advanced and routine surgical procedures.

 Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of surgical procedures, including routine operations and emergency interventions.
- Conduct advanced operations such as TPLO and Patella Luxation, with mentorship available where needed.
- Handle surgical referrals within the remit of your skills.
- Participate in a 1:4 weekend rota.
- Monitor post-operative recovery and provide ongoing care.
- Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Stay updated with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous professional development.
- Mentor junior colleagues, including those in the VetGDP programme.

 Requirements:
- Proven veterinary experience with valid MRCVS membership.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex information to pet owners and clinical teams.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping and treatment planning.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
