An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Vet to take the lead in a thriving and well-loved small animal clinic in the heart of the East London. This busy, dynamic site forms part of a close-knit “mini hub,” working in collaboration with a nearby consult and minor ops clinic to deliver outstanding care across a wide and varied caseload. With recent investment in new ultrasound facilities and more exciting upgrades planned, this is the perfect time for a confident and motivated vet to step in and make the role their own.
The Opportunity:
The Senior Vet will thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing strong leadership while continuing to develop their own clinical expertise. The role involves managing a mix of consultations and surgeries, mentoring colleagues, and supporting the wider team in delivering excellent standards of care. There’s genuine scope for growth and the freedom to help shape the direction of the clinic.
About the Practice:
The clinic is well-equipped, with two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area, separate cat and dog wards, and a well-utilised laboratory. Ongoing investment ensures access to modern tools and technology, and ideas for future improvements are always welcomed.
The team includes other experienced vets, skilled RVNs, students, and trainee nurses who share a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie. The Senior Vet will work closely with the Senior RVN to ensure smooth daily operations, including diary management, clinical governance, and team engagement.
Support and Structure:
The clinic benefits from close links with a *24-hour veterinary hospital*, offering convenient referral options and continued patient care when needed. Additional guidance and mentorship are available through a dedicated regional manager and regional head vet, ensuring full professional support.
Hours and Rota:
This role averages 41 hours per week across four days, with a rota that includes 1 in 4 Saturdays, 1 in 8 Sundays, and up to 2 bank holidays per year. There is also a limited on-call rotation and approximately six short twilight shifts annually.
Location:
Located just a short stroll from London Fields, the practice offers excellent transport links across North and East London, with easy connections further afield.
Rewards and Benefits
This senior role offers a competitive salary of £64,000 to £85,000, depending on experience, with plenty of opportunity for progression.
Additional benefits include:
* 6.6 weeks’ annual leave (including bank holidays, pro rata)
* Visa Sponsorship
* Up to £2,000 CPD budget annually plus 5 days’ paid CPD leave
* Private medical healthcare insurance
* Access to comprehensive wellbeing and employee benefits packages
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, forward-thinking vet to step into a senior position with autonomy, variety, and the chance to shape the future of a thriving urban practice — all while being part of a supportive, collaborative team that values great work and genuine care.
