If you are a small animal veterinary surgeon looking for a fulfilling new role in an experienced and welcoming team in the stunning Scottish Borders, we have an exciting opening for you!

Our clients are a mixed practice with roughly 70% small animal and 30% large animal caseload and are looking for a small animal vet to join them following a recent retirement.  You will be joining a close-knit and social team of 10 Vets (small animal, mixed and large animal), 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 6 student Veterinary Nurses and a dedicated support team.

This role is full time, permanent, working 4-day weeks - 36 hours with 1 in 5 out of hours or 40 hour weeks with no out of hours.  There is some flexibility in this rota so please do ask if you have any questions or specific commitments, part time is also available for the right candidate.   Applicants should be passionate about their role, maintaining strong relationships with clients and always providing the highest possible standards of care.

You will ideally be enthusiastic, friendly and have great communication skills.  Be proactive, with a positive attitude and work ethic and be excited to be part of this thriving team.  The practice prioritises a good work life balance and actively encourage further development at all stages, so this role would be ideal for anyone looking to continue to develop their skills as they work and/or take on further certification.

The practice itself offers excellent small animal facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and full in-house laboratory.  It has a separate large animal facility and stand-alone, purpose-built rehab centre and stem cell referral unit on site, with dedicated physiotherapists and underwater treadmill where they currently accept referrals from all over Scotland.

Located just 50 minutes from Edinburgh and 1 hour from Newcastle this practice offers easy access to major motorways for travel throughout the UK and to both Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport for travel further afield.  It has ample onsite parking and you are welcome to bring your dog to work and make the most of the gorgeous surrounding countryside and River Tweed at lunchtimes as well as in your free time.  This location also offers all the perks of being just outside the city without the price tag, including an incredible array the outdoor activities and sites right on your doorstep.
