Whether you are an experienced veterinary surgeon or newly graduated this well-established Independent small animal practice is offering you a fantastic opportunity to join their clinical team.
The role is full time permanent, working 4 day weeks, with 1 set day off every week. There are no out of hours expectations, just 1 in 6 weekends on rota and in return you will benefit from 1 long weekend off every 6 weeks (Friday to Monday). Applicants will ideally be friendly and approachable, keen to build on their skills, confident working sole charge and happy working as part of a team.
This role would be perfect for someone looking for a 50:50 mix of consultation and surgical work, usually split 2 days consult, 2 days surgery however, would also be great if you are looking to spend more time in theatre or prefer consultations only. Our clients can offer a mix that suits you, meaning you can build your caseload around your specific interests.
As the practice has built up a strong and loyal client base over the past 70 years, they can now offer a great varied small animal caseload with some exotics cases. They currently have a vet who handles most of these cases, however for anyone with a particular interest in this area you will have access to a fully equipped exotics ward complete with vivarium’s and aviaries. While this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in exotics, it is not a requirement.
The practice itself is in the northeast of Essex, not far from the stunning coastline, but also close enough to London to nip on the train and be right in the centre in less than 1.5 hours. There is fantastic public transport in the area, with bus routes and train station less than 5 minutes walk from the practice door and ample car parking on site. For those who like to travel a little further afield you are less than 1 hours drive from London Stanstead Airport and just over 2 hours drive from Dover.
