Registered Veterinary Nurse – Full Time

A well-established, family-run veterinary hospital is looking to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly and dedicated team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This purpose-built small animal hospital offers an excellent environment for an RVN who enjoys clinical variety, high standards of care, and being part of a supportive, close-knit team. As an approved PSS Hospital and Emergency Service Clinic, the practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and manages a busy and rewarding caseload, including referrals from surrounding practices.

The Practice

The hospital is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, orthopaedic equipment, purpose-built theatres, and spacious kennel wards. The team prides itself on delivering gold-standard patient care while maintaining a positive, collaborative workplace culture where every team member is valued.

The Role

This full-time position involves 40 hours per week, worked across four weekdays, with participation in a 1:5 weekend rota. The role offers excellent exposure to a wide range of cases and the opportunity to continually develop clinical skills.

Key responsibilities include:

-Delivering high-quality nursing care under the guidance of veterinary surgeons
-Assisting with medical, surgical, and diagnostic procedures
-Supporting inpatient care and monitoring
-Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues
-Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with RCVS guidelines
-Contributing to a clean, organised, and efficient clinical environment
-Demonstrating a proactive, compassionate, and detail-oriented approach to patient care

This role would suit a motivated RVN who thrives in a busy hospital environment and enjoys multitasking while maintaining exceptional standards.

Working Hours & Rota:

-40 hours a week over a 4 day week with a set day off each week
-1:5 weekend on call
-Weekend and on-call duties paid as overtime and/or standing fees

Salary & Benefits:

£30,000 – £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
-5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

About the Ideal Candidate:

Essential criteria:

-Fully qualified and RCVS-registered RVN
-Able to commute within a 20-mile radius of the practice

Desirable criteria:

-At least 2 years’ experience as an RVN
-Previous experience in a busy hospital or practice environment
-Certificate holder in a clinical area such as ECC

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
