Imagine working in an environment where your development is as important as the care provided to patients. This practice fosters a positive learning culture with a family feel, ensuring every team member feels valued and supported. The ethos here is one of continued development, allowing you to cultivate your clinical interests at your own pace.
What Awaits You:
Join a team with strong interests in exotics, soft tissue surgery, and ophthalmology. The varied caseload will enable you to build on these areas or pursue your own clinical passions. A generous CPD allowance supports your professional growth, and the practice's diary is thoughtfully arranged to give vets ample time for reporting results, writing notes, and working up cases to the highest standard.
Regular team meetings and one-to-one sessions ensure everyone has a voice in practice protocols and personal progression. The experienced nursing and non-clinical team, including 3 vets, 3 RVNs, 2 SVNs, a Practice Manager, and a friendly reception team, provide robust support.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
This role is perfect for a vet with a few years of experience, comfortable with routine consults and surgeries, and eager to progress a specific clinical interest or step into a more senior role. The practice can accommodate either a surgical or consult bias due to its varied caseload and current support structure.
Work-Life Balance:
Full-time availability is preferred, though part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. Occasional sole charge is required, and Saturdays are shared on a rota basis. If you work a Saturday, enjoy the next weekend as a long weekend off. The practice is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays, ensuring ample time for rest and rejuvenation.
Benefits Package:
- Competitive salary up to £65,000 (negotiable DOE)
- 5.6 weeks holiday, increasing to 6.6 weeks with service, plus your birthday off
- CPD allowance and support
- Contributory pension scheme
- Access to AXA private healthcare
- Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA, and one other of your choice)
- Relocation package if applicable
