Experienced Veterinary Surgeon – Shape Your Career in a Collaborative Practice
Location: Leicestershire
Job Type: Permanent – Full or Part-Time Considered
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon with a passion for medicine to take the next step in their career within a supportive, forward-thinking environment. At this welcoming and well-established practice, clinical excellence, compassion, and collaboration are at the heart of everything they do—and now, they’re looking for another dedicated vet to join their friendly team.
Why consider this role?
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants the freedom to tailor their responsibilities to their strengths. Whether a vet prefers consulting, diagnostics, or getting involved in complex medical cases, this role can be adapted to suit their interests. The practice values individuality and works closely with each team member to ensure they thrive professionally.
The successful candidate will join a close-knit group of 9 vets, many of whom hold postgraduate certificates. It's a team that thrives on sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and mentoring newer graduates. This role also presents the chance to help guide and develop early-career vets, offering both clinical and personal mentorship in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
With modern diagnostic tools and a skilled, proactive nursing team, vets here have everything they need to deliver exceptional patient care. And it’s not all work—the team makes time to unwind together, regularly enjoying social events like team nights out and the occasional bingo night!
About the practice:
This trusted, community-focused first opinion practice has a diverse caseload and fully equipped facilities—including a 24-hour out-of-hours service and pet diagnostic imaging—making it well-prepared for both routine and more advanced cases.
Deeply embedded in the local community, the practice takes pride in supporting and attending events like local shows and pet festivals. They also collaborate with charities such as Cats Protection, Prickleback Urchin Hedgehog Rescue, Neville’s Nest Guinea Pig Rescue, and Leicester Animal Rescue.
What makes someone a great fit?
• A confident, collaborative vet who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting
• Someone who values evidence-based decision making and can manage a wide variety of cases
• A team player who enjoys helping newer vets grow and develop
• A laid-back and approachable professional who thrives in a positive team culture
