If you’re looking for a role where your ideas matter, your clinical freedom is protected, and you can help shape a thriving independent practice from the inside, this opportunity could be the perfect fit.
A growing, modern, genuinely supportive clinic in the Surrey Quays area is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly, close-knit team. With no corporate targets and no out-of-hours, this is a role designed to let great vets do what they do best provide high-quality, personal care.
Why This Practice Stands Out
This independently owned small-animal clinic has already built a loyal, engaged client base, despite being in its first year. Clients love the warm, community feel—and the team is equally valued and supported.
Consultations are a generous 20 minutes, allowing time for thorough work-ups and meaningful conversations. You’ll have the autonomy to approach cases in the way you feel is best, backed by colleagues who genuinely care about teamwork, communication, and wellbeing.
You’ll work alongside the practice directors daily, giving you a real voice in how the practice evolves and the freedom to help shape its future.
Your Working Environment:
You’ll enjoy a modern, purpose-built, thoughtfully designed clinic equipped with:
-Digital X-ray & ultrasound
-Large operating theatre
-Two spacious consult rooms
-A dedicated RVN consult room
-A separate cat ward
-In-house lab
-Comfortable staff rest and welfare area
It’s an environment that helps you do your best work, with a team that helps you enjoy it.
The Role:
This is a varied first-opinion position with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and take ownership of cases. You’ll be a key member of a supportive, communicative team and will have every opportunity to influence protocols and help shape the practice’s next stage of growth.
You’ll be responsible for:
-Delivering warm, personable client communication
-Managing surgical and medical cases to a high standard
-Performing routine and non-routine procedures
-Ensuring excellent inpatient care
-Keeping clinical records accurate and detailed
-Playing an active part in the clinic’s positive, collaborative culture
The Offer:
-£55,000–£75,000, depending on experience/certification
-4-day week (9am–7pm)
-1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm)
-No OOH, no bank holidays
-28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with service
-£1,250 CPD budget + 30 hours paid CPD
-RCVS & VDS fees covered
-Staff discounts on treatment & medication
-Visa Sponsorship Available
-A supportive, friendly team committed to wellbeing and development
A chance to be part of building a modern, truly independent community practice
About You:
The team would love to welcome someone who:
-Has 3+ years’ experience and can handle occasional sole charge
-Brings enthusiasm, empathy, and excellent communication
-Is confident with first-opinion surgery
-Enjoys building lasting client relationships
-Works well in a collaborative, supportive environment
-Strives for high clinical standards and thoughtful case management
-Demonstrates professionalism, warmth, and a positive approach
