Embark on a fulfilling veterinary career nestled in the scenic beauty of South Wales, where the majestic Brecon Beacons beckon and gastronomic delights await. A prestigious veterinary group is seeking a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join their team across four state-of-the-art clinics.

This well-established practice prides itself on being a 'GP Plus' establishment, boasting certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and imaging, alongside visiting specialists in cardiology and ultrasound. With a substantial volume of orthopaedic and general surgery work, vets are granted the clinical autonomy to thoroughly work up cases, ensuring comprehensive care from diagnosis to resolution.

The clinics are equipped with the latest technology, including DR X-ray, dental X-ray, new ultrasound, and therapeutic laser. Two branches are poised for imminent refurbishment, signalling an environment that values both innovation and comfort. The practice's approach to out-of-hours care, retaining in-patient responsibilities Monday to Saturday with 24-hour on-site nursing ensures exceptional patient care while promoting a healthier work-life balance by outsourcing new emergencies to external services.

Veterinary surgeons benefit from 15-minute consultations as standard, with extended sessions for more complex procedures, and two hours of protected administrative time daily. This ensures ample opportunity for case research, follow-ups, and uninterrupted client communication. The structured schedule also includes a one-hour lunch break and a 'buffer' at the end of the day to efficiently conclude any outstanding tasks, often resulting in the luxury of an early departure.

The team is renowned for its supportive atmosphere, offering mentorship from an official RCVS GDP advisor for newer graduates and fostering continuous professional development. The practice values a family-friendly ethos, providing a supportive environment for those returning from career breaks and aiding in the pursuit of further qualifications.

While spaniel ownership is humorously encouraged, it is by no means a prerequisite for joining this vibrant team. Instead, a passion for veterinary excellence, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to balance professional dedication with personal well-being are the true hallmarks sought in potential candidates.  If this sounds like the ideal role for you, we’d love to hear from you!
