Veterinary Surgeon - City Location/Collaborative Environment

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing, independent practice located just outside Cardiff city centre. With a diverse caseload that includes consultations, surgery, and emergency work when required, the practice offers a stimulating environment for vets looking to build confidence and develop their skills.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering first-opinion veterinary care, managing both medical and surgical cases, and contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

-First-opinion small animal consultations
-Routine and non-routine surgical procedures
-Medical case management
-Emergency surgery when required

Working closely with colleagues to provide outstanding patient and client care. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week), with a fair share of weekends and the benefit of a 4-day working week, supporting a healthy work–life balance.

About the Ideal Candidate:

The practice is looking for a veterinary surgeon who brings enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong clinical foundation.

Essential criteria include:

-Competence in routine small animal medicine and surgery
-Confidence with emergency surgery (preferred but not essential)

Salary & Benefits:

-£45,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus
-UK visa sponsorship available
-RCVS and VDS fees fully paid
-5 days paid CPD leave with CPD allowance (certificate support encouraged)
-29 days annual leave, plus birthday leave
