Is one ready for an RVN role that offers real variety, genuine balance, and a workplace that truly supports their wellbeing? The team is excited to welcome a new RVN to the friendly team!
Based primarily at their main site in Monmouthshire, with occasional cover across their three branches, this role promises a dynamic and fulfilling work environment. For full-time applicants, the role follows a structured 6-week rolling rota, which includes one full week off in every six-week cycle. This built-in recovery week provides ample time to reset, plan holidays creatively, or simply enjoy extended time away from work. Part-time applicants and job share arrangements are also welcome, with flexible working patterns available for the right candidate.
The salary ranges from £26,000 to £31,000 per annum, depending on experience, ensuring competitive compensation for valuable skills.
The facility is home to 12 RVNs, 3 SVNs, and 3 ACAs working across four well-equipped, RCVS-accredited practices. With 13 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine, the team handles a varied and interesting caseload. The main site provides 24-hour nursing for inpatients, ensuring excellent continuity and standards of patient care.
In this role, one will fully utilise their nursing skills, supporting high standards of clinical and client care within a friendly and professional team. Confidence in assisting with routine surgery, diagnostic imaging, and nurse consultations is desirable. While sole charge experience is advantageous, it is not essential—full training and support will be provided.
For full-time applicants, the 6-week rolling rota includes:
- Week 1: Theatre (08:30–17:30)
- Week 2: Kennels (08:00–17:00) including Saturday (08:00–19:00)
- Week 3: Procedures (10:00–19:00)
- Week 4: Consulting (09:00–18:30)
- Week 5: Nights (Inpatients only, 18:00–08:30)
- Week 6: Week Off
Part-time or job share applicants will have a rota tailored accordingly. Although the OOH service is outsourced, the team retains their own inpatients from Monday 9am to Saturday 6pm to ensure continuity of care.
The facility is a proud member of the BVA Great Workplaces Scheme, reflecting a commitment to a supportive, inclusive culture, professional development, and employee wellbeing. Located around the beautiful Brecon Beacons, the branches offer the perfect setting for scenic lunch break walks or finishing a shift with a hike.
Join the team and be part of a group that values one's skills and supports professional growth in a stunning location. Apply now to embark on a rewarding career journey.
