Calling all Equine Vets, we have an exciting new role just for you!

Our clients have been established for over 50 years providing care to the pets, horses and small holding animals of the local community, gaining themselves an excellent reputation for their gold star care and treatment.  They are currently looking for a vet to join their equine vet team, consisting of 5 vets and supported by dedicated equine nurses and receptionists.

The role is full time, permanent, working 08:30 to 17:30 (with 1hr lunch break), 1 night a week from 17:30 to 08:30 the following day, and 1 in 3 weekends working 08:30 Saturday to 08:30 Monday, with two days off during the week in lieu.  The practice is however open to part time applicants and are able to offer some flexibility in rota for more experienced applicants so please do get in touch if you have any questions or specific responsibilities that would restrict your availability during the above times.

Candidates will ideally have a strong work ethic, always aiming to offer the highest standard of care to both patients and clients.  You will be a team player, but also be confident in working sole charge when required and have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  As this role will involve travel between base and farms/stables you will be required to have a full UK driving license and RCVS registration to apply.

As well as the usual day to day caseload such as lameness, dentistry, radiography, blood samples, vaccinations, health checks and stud work (if this is an area of interest for you), you may be required to attend the occasional emergency call out to small holding animals such as goats or alpacas.
The equine centre offers you a fully equipped base with modern facilities and as part of the role you will personally be provided with a fully equipped vehicle, mobile phone and laptop already set up with all the software required to access histories, account details and diaries.

Our clients pride themselves on being forward thinking and work with their clients and local physiotherapists, acupuncturist, farriers, saddlers and equine therapists to provide a balanced approach using both holistic and traditional medical care.  This role therefore offers a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking, openminded vet keen to build their knowledge and skills.

Benefits:
  • Salary of £40,000 to £60,000 dependent upon experience.
  • Flexible rota and package created to suit you
  • Fully equipped vehicle, mobile phone and laptop provided
  • Annual CPD allowance and days off
  • Flexible holiday entitlement suited to you
  • Employee pension scheme.
  • Monthly practice breakfasts and regular social events for whole team.
  • Professional membership fees reimbursed/paid.
  • Accommodation available.
  • Regular equine team meetings.
  • Bike to work scheme.
  • Electric vehicle scheme.
If you’re a dedicated veterinary surgeon with a passion for equine care, we’d love to hear from you!
