Starting out in your Farm Vet Career?

Are you a friendly and enthusiastic vet with a passion for out-of-hours (OOH) and obstetrical work?

If so, consider joining a supportive, diverse, and inclusive team of farm vets, technicians, ATT, and administrative assistants. This role offers a chance to thrive in a dynamic and varied ambulatory farm animal practice.

The practice is based in a vibrant town in West Sussex. Nestled between the North and South Downs and close to the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the location is ideal for those who appreciate both urban amenities and natural beauty. Excellent transport links, including a main railway line to London and Brighton, proximity to Gatwick Airport, and southern ferry ports, make it a convenient place to live and work.

The role involves a varied caseload, including proactive commercial consultancy work and individual case work-ups, ensuring a stimulating and rewarding work environment. The OOH duties are shared equally on a 1:4 rota, and the role offers a 4.5 day working week with time in lieu for weekends worked. Flexible working arrangements are also considered, supporting a healthy work-life balance.

As part of a wider veterinary community, the benefits package is comprehensive and designed to support both professional and personal development. This includes 5 days of CPD with a £1750 budget per annum, a pension scheme, a discount scheme, and coverage of VDS, BCVA, and RCVS fees. Additionally, a company vehicle, phone, and laptop are provided, along with health insurance and 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays). There is also a buy/sell holiday scheme and skilled worker visas are considered.

The salary is dependent on experience, ranging from £35,000 to £40,000 per annum. This role offers ample scope to develop your career in various directions and find your niche within a progressive and supportive environment.
