If you are an experienced registered veterinary nurse looking for the next step in your career where you can help coach and mentor the next generation of nurses and help drive a small and growing practice forward, look no further.

Our clients are a small veterinary practice first established in the 1960’s with one veterinary hospital and three branch surgeries.  They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team as Lead RVN in their newest branch, a small growing practice supported by their main hospital out of hours.

This is a pivotal role in the practice and provides the bridge both within the clinical team between vets and nurses, and between clients and the practice team.  You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of hygiene and patient care is always provided, as well as keeping up with general nursing duties, nurse consultations and basic admin duties.

This role is full time, permanent, working 40 hours per week with a mixture of early and late shifts Monday to Friday and 1 in 6 weekends at the main hospital.  Candidates will ideally be at least 2 years' post qualification, have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and take pride in being organised and efficient in every aspect of your working day.

As the role is predominantly focused on clinical duties, you will have a set amount of protected time set aside for leadership, administration and mentoring tasks.  Candidates should therefore be proactive and confident working as part of a team and be able to lead the nursing team with a positive attitude.

The practice itself is based in Essex on the northeast edge of Greater London.  From here you have easy access into the city centre, numerous major airports and train stations for travel within the UK and beyond.  There is some roadside parking outside the practice for those who prefer to drive and excellent bus links in the area for those who prefer public transport.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary up to £35,000 depending on experience

  • 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays and an additional birthday holiday

  • Administration time factored into your week

  • Annual CPD allowance with CPD actively supported

  • Professional membership fees paid

  • Enhanced Equal family leave and sickness policy

  • Employee discount scheme available

  • Excellent career progression opportunities
