Practice Manager – Independent Veterinary Practice (Part-Time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and people-focused Practice Manager to join a friendly, independent veterinary practice in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Following the current Practice Manager’s move to the South Coast, the team is now looking for someone to build on the strong foundations already in place and help guide the practice into its next chapter.

This is a practice that genuinely believes its people are its greatest asset, both clients and colleagues alike. With a clear philosophy of continuous improvement, the team is committed to delivering high-quality clinical care alongside a well run, supportive, and positive working environment.

About the Practice

The practice is a well established, single site independent clinic offering a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including preventative healthcare, surgery, and advanced diagnostics such as ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy, and in-house laboratory testing.

Known for its compassionate, community-focused approach, the team places great importance on trust, communication, and exceptional client service. The culture is collaborative, respectful, and forward-thinking, with everyone working together to provide the very best care for pets and their owners.

The Role

This part-time, on-site position, over 4 days (32 hours per week) plays a key role in the day-to-day success of the practice. The Practice Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly while supporting both the clinical and non-clinical teams.

Key responsibilities include:

-Managing staff rotas, schedules, and day-to-day team coordination
-Overseeing operational processes and maintaining accurate financial records
-Ensuring compliance with veterinary and healthcare regulations
-Supporting a positive, inclusive, and motivated workplace culture
-Managing client relationships and helping deliver an excellent customer experience
-Contributing to business development and continuous improvement initiatives

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and being a central figure within a close-knit team.

The successful candidate will bring:

-Proven experience in team management and leadership, including staff scheduling
-Strong organisational and administrative skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-Confidence in problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking
-A proactive, supportive management style
-Experience within veterinary or healthcare settings is advantageous, but not essential
-Confidence using practice management systems and IT software

Most importantly, they will share the practice’s values of kindness, professionalism, and continual improvement.
