There are not many opportunities like this!

We are always being asked about internship opportunities and are excited to be representing this client offering a fantastic internship in a great location.

Our client is a Small Animal and Equine Hospital group based in the beautiful county of Essex.

This independent, very well established hospital group has been delivering excellent levels of care to the local community since 1980. Located across gorgeous villages in North Essex, there is easy access into and around London via road, rail and access to Stanstead and Gatwick international airports. You are also close to the beautiful Suffolk and Essex Coastline. (Ask me all about it as I lived in this location for a few years!)

The role is aimed at recent graduates and offers them a sound foundation in all key skill areas of small animal and equine medicine and surgery, whilst in return providing the practice with a continuity in the clinical team and valuable back up system. With a split between Small Animal and the Equine caseload the role will be challenging but very rewarding opportunity to develop your skills within a first opinion and referral setting. They will provide guidance in developing the highest levels of clinical skill, client care and communication. You will be mentored and supported by the senior clinician team and partners who will assist with practical issues and be a constant point of guidance and advice. The mentor will conduct regular reviews of your progress, both informally in day to day contract and also at formal reviews.

There will always be a team of 2 interns at any one time so you will have a peer for support and will work closely together delivering some the OOH provision as well as the day rota. You will also provide cover back up for the clinical team including veterinary care for the in-patients, surgical procedures and clinical investigations. You will develop and grow your skills throughout this 12 month internship and will be a confident and capable veterinary surgeon with both small animal and equine skills. Potential for a permanent role at the end of the internship with a mix of SA and Equine work depending on your preference is available.

Accommodation and a car are part of this exciting package plus CPD allowance of £1000 and 5 days paid CPD leave.

Sponsorship for overseas candidates could be considered.
