A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join a highly respected independent small animal practice, nestled in the beautiful heart of Northamptonshire.
This is a rare chance to become part of a truly supportive and friendly team that values quality care, team spirit, and clinical freedom. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and experienced team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons and 15 qualified nurses, all dedicated to delivering the highest standards of patient and client care.
The practice is well-equipped and modern, operating as a first-opinion clinic with a strong reputation across the region. Case continuity is a priority, allowing vets to fully manage and follow through their clinical cases, and there’s a strong culture of collaboration and mutual support within the team. Knowledge sharing is encouraged and celebrated, and there's always an experienced colleague on hand to offer input when needed.
Located in a stunning countryside setting, the practice is perfectly situated for those who enjoy nature and a quieter lifestyle—yet it’s still only around 50 minutes by train from both London and Birmingham, offering the best of both worlds.
What makes this role stand out?
No out-of-hours work – a dedicated night nurse cares for inpatients
Up to 20-minute consults, supporting thorough and compassionate care
4.5-day working week with 1 in 8 weekend rota and time off in lieu
5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays, ensuring proper rest and work-life balance
Genuine clinical autonomy with full support to pursue individual interests
Case continuity is not just allowed—it’s encouraged
Benefits include:
Competitive salary, reflective of experience
Paid CPD and support for certificate training
RCVS, BVA, and VDS memberships included
Company pension contributions
Regular team social events and days out
Opportunities for career progression within an independent setting
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in their clinical abilities, thrives in a collaborative environment, and values both autonomy and professional development. For those seeking a fulfilling role within a team that genuinely cares—for patients, clients, and each other—this could be the ideal next step.
