Are you an experienced Small Animal Vet looking for a rewarding part-time role that offers a balanced work-life schedule? This could be the perfect match for you. A long-established Small Animal first opinion practice, comprising a main hospital and two branches, is seeking a dedicated and confident vet to join their team. This position has become available due to the current post-holder relocating, and it promises a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a valued member of the team, you will enjoy a varied schedule that includes consulting and procedure time. The role requires you to work 3 or 4 days per week, with specific days needed being Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Additionally, every other Wednesday may be required, potentially increasing to every Wednesday in the future. The working hours are designed to provide a balanced routine: 8.30am-8pm on Mondays and Fridays, and 8.30am-5.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Your responsibilities will also include 'On Call' back-up for inpatients and handling emergencies presented before 8pm once every fortnight on a Monday. The role involves 1 in 8 Saturday mornings from 8.30am to 1pm, and 1 in 8 duty weekends. During duty weekends, you will manage Friday evening consultations, Saturday morning consultations, and emergencies between 8am and 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, along with responsibility for inpatients throughout the weekend. Emergencies outside these hours are managed by Vets Now. Additionally, you will be part of a bank holiday rota, working up to two bank holidays per year with the same pattern as Sundays.

This role is exclusively focused on small animals, even though the practice also caters to equine patients. With a competitive salary range of £40k-£70k, you will be joining a team of 9 Small Animal vets (7.5 FTE), 3 Interns, 10 RVNs, 4 SVNs, and 1 NA.

If you have 3-5 years of experience, are confident in sole charge and out-of-hours work, and are looking to join a supportive and professional team, this role could be the next step in your veterinary career.
