Veterinary Surgeon - 50:50 Small Animal and Exotics/Wildlife

If you are looking for an exciting and varied caseload in a supportive and award winning practice, this could be the perfect position for you. 

The role is full time for a fixed 9 months maternity leave cover, with the potential for permanent placement after this time, however our clients are also open to part time applicants during these 9 months.  You will be working a 4-5 day week, with 1 in 5 weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and 3 days off in lieu of your weekend on. 

All applicants should be confident and enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about their role and caring for patients and clients every day.  You should ideally have good general surgical and medical skills and be keen to continue to develop your skills within a supportive and progressive team.

Applicants should also be confident working sole charge and with a 50:50 mix of exotic/wildlife and small animal cases.  Due to this variety of caseload applicants may also be asked to participate in zoo visits where you will gain exposure to the exotic/wildlife arena, offering a fantastic opportunity for you to build on your current skills and further your career.

The practice itself is bright and airy with lots of space and is filled with state-of-the-art equipment including species specific wards to match the caseload. 
You will be joining an experienced clinical team of 5 vets, 6 registered veterinary nurses and 2 student nurses, and be supported daily by a dedicated non-clinical team of 3 receptionists and practice manager.

Located on the edge of the east Cambridgeshire and Suffolk border this practice offers excellent public transport links locally and to London, Birmingham and further afield.  There is excellent parking on site for those who drive and you are surrounded by shops, entertainment and beautiful and historic sites and attractions to keep you busy when not in practice
