Are you a passionate veterinary surgeon seeking a fulfilling role within a supportive and friendly team? Look no further. A well-established independent practice in Essex, just a stone's throw from the beach, is looking for a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join their dynamic team of 13 vets (7 FTE). With a small branch surgery nearby, this practice offers a unique blend of professional growth and work-life balance.

This practice has made significant investments in its people, premises, and equipment. With specialists in dermatology and soft tissue surgery, the team is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a new dental x-ray system, ultrasound machine, video-endoscopy, digital x-ray, and top-notch in-house laboratory equipment. The recent refurbishment and extension of the facilities now include separate cat waiting and consulting rooms, ensuring a stress-free environment for feline patients.

As an RCVS accredited nurse training practice, the team comprises 14 nurses, 10 of whom are registered veterinary nurses. Many of these nurses are 'home-grown,' providing excellent support for inpatients, surgical cases, and nurse clinics. The practice is also ISFM and RWAF accredited, reflecting its commitment to the highest standards of care.

The role offers numerous benefits designed to enhance your professional and personal life. Enjoy 15-minute appointments, one set operating day per week, and one set day off during the week. Additionally, you will work only 1:4 Saturday mornings with no out-of-hours commitments. A competitive salary based on experience, five weeks of annual leave, and paid RCVS and VDS fees are part of the package. Plus, a gym membership is included to support your well-being.

The ideal candidate will be experienced and surgically competent, capable of independently performing routine neutering, dental treatments, lumpectomies, and diagnostic imaging. A keen interest in working up and following through cases to completion, or appropriately handing over to colleagues, is essential. Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and clients are crucial, as client experience and patient care are paramount.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and values being part of a team that prioritises the well-being of patients and colleagues alike. If you are ready to join a friendly and dedicated team that works hard to achieve the best outcomes, this could be the perfect fit for you.
