Veterinary Surgeon – Manchester

Are you a dedicated veterinary professional seeking a role where your skills and compassion can truly make a difference? My client, a trusted and friendly veterinary practice just two minutes from Manchester City Centre, is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The practice is committed to providing exceptional care for pets of all shapes and sizes.

About the practice

Pets are considered family, and their health and wellbeing are paramount. The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology, including ultrasound imaging, X-rays, and an in-house laboratory, ensuring precise diagnostics and rapid results. The modern surgical equipment and specialist fertility technology, enable the team to deliver outstanding care and achieve the best outcomes for pets.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will be part of a dedicated team comprising three vets, three registered veterinary nurses (RVNs), two veterinary care assistants (VCAs), and four receptionists. This medium-sized independent practice, established in 2022, prides itself on its community-focused ethos and commitment to continuous improvement.

Your role will involve:

- Performing routine and complex surgical procedures.
- Conducting thorough health checks and diagnostics using advanced imaging and laboratory facilities.
- Providing expert advice on pet care, including weight management, dental care, and preventative treatments.
- Supporting responsible breeding through specialised canine fertility services, including ovulation timing, artificial insemination, and pregnancy diagnosis.

Skills and Experience Required

The ideal candidate will possess strong surgical skills and a passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. Experience in a similar role within a busy veterinary practice is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pet owners are also crucial.

Work Schedule and Benefits

My client offers a balanced work schedule with a four-day week and a 1:3 Saturday rota, with no out-of-hours duties. This allows for a healthy work-life balance while still providing ample opportunities to engage in a diverse surgical caseload.

Apply today and become part of a practice that values integrity, excellence, and community. If you are a dedicated veterinary professional looking to make a meaningful impact, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
