Are you a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon looking for a fulfilling role in a supportive and dynamic environment?
Nestled in the picturesque rural landscape of Suffolk, this independent, multi-disciplinary veterinary practice offers an inviting and collaborative atmosphere where clinical excellence is paramount. Based just outside of Stowmarket, a bustling and beautiful market town and only an hour from London Stanstead Airport, you have the best of both worlds, close to transport links but all the countryside and coastline on your doorstep too!
Imagine working in a practice that values their expertise and well-being. With a team comprising six first opinion vets, four ophthalmologists, an orthopaedic/soft tissue referral surgeon, and 20 Registered Veterinary Nurses, they will be surrounded by experienced professionals who share over 100 years of combined knowledge. Regular whole-team meetings ensure seamless practice continuity and communication, while fortnightly clinical meetings provide opportunities for case discussions, journal reviews, and presentations, fostering continuous professional development.
The state-of-the-art facilities include eight consulting rooms, four surgical theatres, separate dog and cat wards, and advanced imaging capabilities such as CT, ultrasound, and digital X-ray. It also boasts comprehensive endoscopy and laparoscopic equipment, respiratory ventilators, multi-parameter monitoring, and an on-site laboratory for rapid diagnostics and cytology services. This well-equipped environment allows them to deliver the highest standard of care to their patients.
Life at this practice is about more than just work. They are committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, offering a flexible and understanding approach to their schedule. With a four-day work week (8am-6pm), on-call duties only one weekend in six, and no additional Saturday work, they can enjoy their personal time without compromising their professional responsibilities. The clients respect boundaries, ensuring that out-of-hours calls are reserved for genuine emergencies, and rest time is accommodated if they've had a particularly demanding night.
The role offers a competitive salary ranging from £38,000 to £75,000, depending on experience, along with five weeks of holiday plus bank holidays. Continuing professional development is encouraged and supported, with funding available for worthwhile courses and training.
