Veterinary Surgeon - Fixed Term with potential to extend

About the Role:
The practice is looking for a veterinary surgeon to join their inclusive, forward-thinking team on a one-year fixed-term contract for maternity cover, starting in March/April. There is also the potential for a permanent position after the contract ends. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy first-opinion practice that prides itself on delivering exceptional care to each patient.

The team is a close-knit group of experienced vets and a competent new graduate, supported by a strong ratio of RVNs, a Veterinary Care Assistant, and a dedicated reception team. The nurses handle schedule three procedures and consults, allowing vets to focus on their cases and work-ups.

The practice frequently collaborates with visiting orthopaedic surgeons and cardiologists, and with a high rate of insured clients, most work-ups are kept in-house. For referrals, there are multiple renowned clinics in the area. While there is a small amount of on-call duty (some evenings and Saturdays), support is always available from Sandy and the OOH provider, Village Vets.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of clinical experience and be comfortable with routine presentations. Passion for high levels of client and patient care is essential. The practice values work-life balance and offers flexible rotas tailored to individual needs, including options like late starts, longer lunch breaks, split shifts, and various combinations of working days.
