Are you a compassionate, motivated, and team-focused veterinary surgeon seeking a role where you can genuinely thrive? Do you aspire to work alongside brilliant colleagues, loyal clients, and a practice that invests in your development, wellbeing, and future? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.
Our client, a progressive and friendly primary care practice, is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their well-established team in Somerset and Wiltshire. With a competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum (D.O.E), this role offers both full-time and part-time positions with flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle. The standard full-time schedule is a 40-hour week over four 10-hour days, while part-time roles are available at 30 hours per week over three 10-hour days.
You will be part of a large, welcoming team of 24 vets, including Certificate holders in Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, and Feline Medicine, as well as a visiting Diplomate-led Ophthalmology service. The practice boasts modern clinical facilities, including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy, orthopaedic surgery, and an onsite laboratory. The RCVS accredited small animal hospital provides dedicated 24/7 hospital support, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.
The practice values clear communication, celebrating achievements, and encouraging regular feedback. Monthly virtual meetings and quarterly in-person breakfast meetings ensure all clinicians have a voice in shaping protocols and services. With support from over 50 experienced nurses, a knowledgeable client care team, and an in-house receptionist and nurse-led call centre, you can focus on delivering the highest standard of veterinary care.
The rota is designed for work-life balance, offering a mix of theatre, consulting, and hospital work. For those who prefer consulting, a Consult Only role is available. The out-of-hours service ensures true continuity of patient care, with a fair and supportive rota.
Located on the Somerset/Wiltshire border, the practice is surrounded by beautiful countryside yet close to Bath, The Cotswolds, Bristol, Salisbury, and direct train links to London. It’s the perfect blend of rural calm and cultural vibrancy.
Ideal candidates will be confident with routine consults and surgeries, RCVS-registered, and have completed VetGDP. Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset are essential, along with a desire to grow clinically.
Our client offers an attractive benefits package, including 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave, relocation and visa sponsorship support, RCVS and VDS fees paid, life assurance, generous staff discount, quality uniform, protected induction training time, employer pension contribution, enhanced family leave, e-car salary sacrifice scheme, and extensive CPD allowance with opportunities to complete a certificate.
Apply today and thrive in a role that truly supports your professional and personal growth.
