Are you a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon looking for a fulfilling career in a supportive and dynamic environment? Picture yourself working in the North East, where the beauty of the coast meets the charm of an award-winning independent small animal practice.
This is not just another veterinary role—this is your opportunity to thrive in a practice that champions clinical freedom, rapid decision-making, and personal growth. Unlike corporate environments, decisions here are made quickly and with your professional autonomy in mind. Imagine having access to cutting-edge facilities like orthopaedic and laparoscopic surgery, digital imaging (including dental X-rays), ultrasound, and an in-house IDEXX lab, all while being encouraged to pursue your passions in areas such as keyhole surgery, internal medicine, or exotics.
You will be supported by an experienced team of 2 Vets (one certificate holder) who are happy to help you develop skills in your area of interest and 7 RVNs, who are given clinical freedom to assist you with surgeries and cases making the work flow better and giving you the time to focus on your patient. There is a busy and varied caseload but always time for breaks, admin and case discussion.
Here’s what makes this role irresistible:
A Flexible Schedule: 40 hours over 4 days, including paid breaks and admin time.
Balanced Work-Life: 1 in 3 Saturday mornings on a rota basis (with time off in lieu the following Friday, allowing a long weekend). No OOH, no on-call, and no bank holiday working.
Generous Benefits: Up to £57K salary (DOE), re-location package, £1,500 CPD allowance plus 4 days, RCVS and VDS fees covered
Professional Development: One-to-one surgical support, opportunities to undertake orthopaedic and laparoscopic surgery, and funding for certificates in your areas of interest.
Visa Sponsorship available for eligible candidates.
This role offers the best of both worlds—client and case continuity and the chance to grow your skills in a friendly, close-knit team supported by qualified staff and modern technology.
Don’t let this opportunity pass you by. Step into a role where you can make a difference, expand your expertise, and enjoy the benefits of working in a truly independent practice. Apply today to take the next step in your veterinary career in a great part of the country.
