Are you a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Surgeon looking for a new chapter in your career?

This Veterinary Group in the Medway Towns, Kent, is seeking a dedicated professional to join their friendly and experienced team. This role offers a unique chance to develop your clinical interests while working in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Imagine working in a practice where flexible hours are the norm, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life seamlessly. With a fair share of the weekend rota (1 in 3 Saturdays, consults only) and no out-of-hours commitments, you can enjoy your time off without the stress of unexpected calls. The practice can also offer relocation support, making it easier for you to settle into your new role.

You will be part of a team of 11 experienced Veterinary Surgeons with diverse clinical interests, including orthopaedics, internal medicine, ultrasonography, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and acupuncture. The practice boasts excellent facilities, including surgical theatres, consult rooms, ultrasound, digital x-ray, endoscopy equipment, and an in-house laboratory with separate dog and cat wards. This environment provides you with the tools and support needed to deliver the highest standards of care.

The role offers the exciting prospect of working sole charge some of the time, helping to reopen a practice and putting your own stamp on the site. This is a fantastic chance to grow a practice back into a thriving, fully operational branch. You will also have the opportunity to discuss cases and treatment plans with owners, research cases, and book non-routine surgeries or diagnostics.

The practice has a real family feel, with many colleagues having been with the practice for 30–40 years. This reflects the positive, supportive culture that makes it a great place to work. The team includes 11 Vets, 14 RVNs, 2 PCAs, 2 student nurses, and 18 Client Care team members, all working together to support one another fully.

The Medway and wider Kent area offers a perfect blend of countryside, coast, and excellent access to London. With independent cafés, historic streets, riverside walks, and a strong connection to Charles Dickens, the area provides a great balance of character, history, and convenience. The North Downs offers fantastic walking and cycling routes, while Bluewater Shopping Centre provides a wide range of retail, dining, and leisure options. High-speed rail connections mean London can be reached in around 35–45 minutes, making this a great location for those who want countryside living with city access.

To be considered for this role, you must be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 3-5 years of UK small animal experience. You should be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills, confident in managing a varied first opinion caseload, and comfortable with occasional sole charge. An interest in further study, CPD, or charity/community work is a bonus, especially with the practice’s strong links to local Cats Protection adoption centres.

Benefits include 5 weeks of holiday plus bank holidays, birthday leave, RCVS & VDS fees paid, CPD allowance, career progression opportunities, staff discount schemes, life assurance, enhanced sickness pay, enhanced equal family leave, e-car salary sacrifice scheme, recruitment referral reward scheme, and a wellness program.

If you are ready to take the next step in your veterinary career and join a practice that values your skills and contributions, apply today and become part of the family. Visa Sponsorship Provided.
