Are you a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) seeking a fresh challenge, or an experienced RVN ready to step into a leadership role? My client, a friendly and progressive small animal practice in North West London, is looking for a motivated Head RVN (or aspiring Head RVN) to join their expanding team. This is your chance to be part of a practice that values high clinical standards, exceptional team support, and a genuinely collaborative working environment.

Imagine working in a practice where your skills are not only recognised but celebrated. My client offers a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where you can thrive. If you enjoy running nurse clinics, coaching students, and getting hands-on with procedures such as scale and polish, this could be the perfect fit for you.

The practice has seen significant growth over the past three years. The practice owners, bring over 30 years of experience, while the Head Vet is currently undertaking a Dermatology Certificate. The team includes 3.5 vets, 1 RVN, 2 SVNs, 1 VCA, and a practice manager, supported by visiting peripatetic orthopaedic surgeons and an ultrasonographer. The purpose-built surgery is equipped with a full in-house lab, ultrasound facilities, digital X-ray, and species-specific kennel areas. An exciting practice rebrand is also planned for later this year.

Conveniently located, the practice offers ample onsite parking and excellent public transport connections across London and the South East via the nearby overground and underground stations.

This full-time role of 40 hours per week includes one Saturday in three with time off in lieu, ensuring a healthy work/life balance. There is no out-of-hours work, allowing you to enjoy your personal time.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a lead-by-example approach. Experience as a clinical coach is advantageous, but support is available for those keen to train in that role. You will work closely with the Head Vet and long-standing Practice Manager, fostering a positive, supportive, and happy team environment.

Your role will be varied and engaging, involving clinical coaching for student veterinary nurses, running nurse clinics, carrying out schedule 3 procedures, and undertaking routine tasks such as second vaccinations and post-operative checks. You will also play a key part in the ongoing development of the practice and the wider nursing team.

In return for your hard work, the practice offers a competitive salary of £40,000 Pro Rata, a £1000 annual bonus for becoming a Clinical Coach, a flexible rota, birthday leave, regular lunch and learns, two mental health first aiders, a personal CPD allowance of up to £500 per year with 2 days paid to complete, no OOH, a 1 in 3 Saturday rota, exclusive colleague discounts, a high street shopping discount scheme, a company pension scheme, and a great location.

If you are an established Head RVN or an experienced RVN ready to take the next step in your career, I would love to hear from you. Join a warm, supportive, and growing practice and help shape its future.
