Lead Vet - London - multiple clinics

Are you an ambitious and entrepreneurial veterinary professional looking to make a significant impact in a modern, technology-enabled clinic? A cutting-edge independent clinic chain in London is seeking a dynamic Lead Vet to join their team and help shape the future of veterinary care.

Why This Role Stands Out

This role offers more than just a job; it’s a chance to be part of a forward-thinking clinic that prioritises exceptional quality of care, empathy for pet owners, and a premium client experience. You’ll work in state-of-the-art, purpose-built clinics that are both contemporary and stylish, appealing to a cosmopolitan clientele. Each clinic is equipped with the latest veterinary innovations, including non-invasive cancer screening, a Static X-Ray table, Ultrasound, and VVS kit. The open-plan prep area, imaging suite, dental suite, and sterile surgical theatre are designed to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.

The Team

Join a team of exceptional veterinary professionals who are not only clinically competent but also supportive of one another. Each clinic houses three or more vets and an equal number of nurses, all selected for their expertise and dedication to the field.

What You’ll Bring

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, be a self-starter, and be comfortable with change and ambiguity. You should be willing to challenge the status quo and contribute to the clinic’s operational performance. Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for educating clients about treatment options and preventative care are essential. You should also be keen to develop and use structured clinical protocols and mentor your team.

Clinical Skills

You should excel in first opinion consults and be proficient in a variety of dentistry and soft tissue surgical procedures. A desire to gain more surgical skills and a clear idea of further qualifications you wish to pursue will be highly regarded. Experience in orthopaedics or internal medicine is a plus but not mandatory.

Working Hours and Benefits

- Clinic hours: 08:00 – 19:00, Monday through Sunday
- Shift pattern: Mix of 5 days x 8 hours or 4 days x 10 hours
- Maximum 40 hours per week, including weekends (one in every three weekends)
- Rota notified at least two weeks in advance
- 5.6 weeks of annual leave, inclusive of public holidays
- Pension contribution
- Membership of the Veterinary Defence Society and RCVS
- £1,250 per annum CPD allowance plus 3 days paid leave
- Staff discounts on treatments and drugs for up to 3 pets

Post-Probation Benefits

- Private medical insurance for you and your dependants
