Step Into Specialist Nursing at Its Best – Become a Ward RVN in a Centre of Excellence

For Registered Veterinary Nurses who are passionate about patient care and ready to advance their clinical skills, this is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s most advanced referral centres for oncology and soft tissue surgery. As a Ward RVN, you’ll play a vital role in delivering gold-standard care to a wide range of complex cases—all within a supportive, specialist-led environment.

This role places you at the centre of inpatient care, supporting cats and dogs referred for life-saving treatment. You’ll work alongside a team of dedicated professionals, including specialists, residents, interns, senior RVNs, and veterinary care assistants, to ensure each patient receives outstanding nursing support.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £31,500 – £34,000, depending on qualifications and experience

Holidays: 24 days inclusive of bank holidays, increasing to 26.5 days after 3 years’ service

Ongoing CPD opportunities, career development support, and training in advanced procedures

A welcoming, collaborative culture with high clinical standards at its core

Why this role stands out
The position is entirely ward-based, giving you the chance to focus on what you do best—nursing. From post-operative recovery to one-to-one monitoring of critical patients, each shift offers a chance to make a tangible difference to patient outcomes.

You’ll also take a leading role in patient flow and coordination, working closely with multiple departments to ensure seamless care. Whether you’re updating a client on their pet’s progress or helping a colleague during a challenging case, your empathy, expertise, and communication skills will shine.

Work-life balance matters, too. The role includes a rotational weekend and bank holiday rota but no night work, ensuring you have time to recharge and enjoy life outside of practice.

A state-of-the-art setting
This referral centre is equipped with some of the UK’s most advanced veterinary facilities, including:

Four fully equipped operating theatres

160-slice CT scanner

Fluoroscopy and Interventional Radiology suite

Dedicated chemotherapy suite

Advanced ultrasound and endoscopy systems

In-house diagnostics and digital radiography

You’ll be supported by an organisation that values clinical excellence, transparency, and professional development. Every team member is encouraged to pursue CPD, contribute to clinical audits, and be part of shaping the future of veterinary care.
