Registered Veterinary Nurse - Dundee

Join a modern and forward-thinking accredited Tier 3 Hospital located in Dundee. This is more than just a job; it’s a chance to be part of a close-knit, supportive team that values both professional excellence and social camaraderie. With a variety of certificate holders in Orthopaedics, Diagnostics, Cardiology, and Soft Tissue Surgery, it offers a dynamic and enriching work environment. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including a TPLO, laparoscopic equipment, and an on-site CT scanner. Additionally, the practice is ISFM gold standard and Rabbit Friendly.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will enjoy a varied shift pattern that includes approximately two days from 8.30am to 5.00pm, one day from 11.00am to 8.00pm, one day from 8.30am to 5.30pm, and one half-day from 8.00am to 1.00pm. Importantly, there is no on-call duty, and weekend work is shared equally on a rota system. There are no OOH as emergency cover is already arranged.

The benefits are plentiful. Full-time RVNs receive 29 days of holiday per year, with four days reserved for Christmas and New Year. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is both encouraged and supported, allowing you to grow and advance in your career.

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of general nursing duties including the admission and discharge of animals, administering medicines, IV fluids, blood sampling, and monitoring anaesthetics. You will also assist vets as required and undertake nurse clinics. Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring all equipment is in good working order is essential. Regular attendance at nurse meetings and assisting with the daily dangerous drug stocktake are also part of your responsibilities. Familiarity with the Practice Manual, COSHH regulations, and all Health and Safety policies is crucial.

This is a fantastic chance to join a team that not only excels in veterinary care but also values the importance of a supportive and friendly work environment.
