Looking to thrive in a well-equipped, progressive, and supportive practice with a varied caseload and plenty of opportunities to grow? We’re seeking an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon who’s ready to bring their skills to a busy, forward-thinking team. Whether you’re looking for full-time hours or more flexibility, we’re open to making it work.

Why This Role Stands Out
Set in the heart of picturesque East Lancashire, this multi-site practice provides a rare mix of high-quality clinical work and lifestyle flexibility. With modern hospital-grade facilities, a dedicated night team, and certificate-holding colleagues across medicine, ECC, dentistry, and more, this is a place where vets flourish.

You’ll work with a well-bonded team of professionals, including experienced RVNs (several with ECC and anaesthesia qualifications), GDP mentors, and mental health first aiders. Your professional development is more than encouraged—it’s funded, supported, and celebrated.

What You’ll Love

  • Salary from £40,000 to £65,000, depending on your experience

  • Flexible 8-week rolling rota with a mixture of 3–5 day weeks

  • On-call just 1 night every 2 weeks (with the next day off) and 1.5 weekends in 8, with time off in lieu

  • Supportive night RVNs take client calls, leaving you free to focus on patient care

  • Comfortable on-site accommodation available for your on-call shifts

  • Advanced facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, dental suite with x-ray, and a full in-house lab

  • Close collaboration with visiting specialists in ultrasonography and cardiology

  • Separate feline and canine wards, plus a quiet bereavement space

  • Generous CPD budget (£1,700 + 5 days) with full support for certificates

  • Paid RCVS, VDS, and two additional memberships

  • 6.6 weeks of annual leave, plus options to buy more

  • Employee Assistance Programme, private health insurance, gym membership, and Cycle to Work scheme

  • Enhanced family leave policies and one paid volunteering day per year

  • Yes—you can bring your (well-behaved) pet to work!
